Getting Creative to Tackle the Challenges of Tax Regulatory Changes

This is a virtual event, accessible online and over the phone. Access instructions will be provided after registration.

The pace of regulatory changes, such as Federal tax reform, State responses to Federal tax reforms, and GAAP/IFRS changes such as ASC 606, ASC 842, and IFRS 16, seems to be ramping up. These changes have a domino effect – accounting changes impact tax and tax changes impact accounting work. In the end, business processes and financial controls are frequently broken by these changes which gives you new opportunities to review process and streamline workflows.

Join Ryan Sheehan, Senior Product Manager for Bloomberg Tax Fixed Assets, Corporate Tax Analyzer, and State Tax Analyzer along with Janet Techman, Tax Manager at Ulta Beauty who recently implemented regulatory changes using the Bloomberg Tax Automator, share real world lessons learned and how automation reduced the work load while improving turn-around time, accuracy, and financial controls.

Educational Objectives:

  • Identify the challenges created by changes in law, accounting standards, and tax codes for accounting and tax departments

  • Learn how technology can be leveraged in creative ways to overcome challenges of regulatory change

  • Understand processes necessary to successfully implement technology solutions
